I purchased this fan to replace a much older/1990’s ceiling fan in our living room. It took my husband about 2.5 hours to install (including removal of the old fan) and he had no problems with the installation. The fan arrived in perfect condition, is visually very attractive, and is quieter than the old one. It’s sturdy and seems like a quality piece. The fan blades have two different colors, with one side being more of a brown color, and the other sort of a reddish brown. We installed ours with the reddish brown side facing down so it is visible, but I think you can choose to make the brown side visible instead if you want. We love that this fan came with a remote and use the remote pretty much exclusively to turn the lights and/or the fan on and off rather than using the pull chains. As others have noted, make sure you get light bulbs that will fit within the cage. We found Edison-type ones right here on Amazon that worked perfectly, around 4” in length I believe. All in all, a really nice fan that we are both pleased with.
