Great fan! Totally silent operation. We need a chandelier for large family room, and we needed to replace the existing broken fan. This is a great light with adjustable luminosity and color temperature from warm to cool (it's brightest when it's mixed colors). Most lights on fans are not bright enough but this is bright and adjustable.We like how the fan blades retract into the chandelier. The fan seems much weaker in moving air than a normal fan but that may be its size at 42" in a large room with a high ceiling, and the large light reduces the actual size of the fan. On the other hand we didn't want an ugly massive fan. The air movement is strongest directly under the fan. It makes almost no noise when turned on at its highest speed.We installed it ourselves over many hours and it was not easy: you definitely need 2 people. We thought we could reuse the existing fan mount, but no - you must use the mounting bracket that comes with this fan because it has space for the wireless receiver to slide into the bracket. The directions are a little skimpy. There are Youtube videos on the installation but they don't go into detail on the hardest parts around installing the mounting bracket. The crystals need to be hung by hand under the fan light and this is time consuming although easy work.All in all, good price for a great chandelier and an ok fan.
