Start by disconnecting the fan from power supply and removing the fan cover. Step 2 Measure and mark holes on the wall, then drill holes in the correct spot. Once the holes are drilled, insert the expansion anchors. Affix the fan. Step 3 Connect the cables according to the wiring diagram and place the fan cover back on. I was looking for a good through-the-wall ventilation fan that I could install in my garage in order to expel exhaust, gasoline and similar fumes in order to keep them from entering our home. My intent is to wire it to be able to switch it both manually and with a timer. I have not installed this fan yet but was amazed at its quality when I took it out of the box. It is an industrial quality, solid device totally unlike any vent fan that one would buy at a big box store for your attic, garage, kitchen or bath.I intend to update this review once the installlation is complete and I can judge its perfomance.
