I had to very carefully pry the bottom (top when you open the bottom of the laptop) shroud off of the old fan and click it onto the new fan. It wasn't too hard, but there might be a danger of breaking it. So far it's working fine. In a few videos I watched, the new fan apparently came with the shroud.
