I purchased the Control Pro 130 to paint my kitchen cabinets. Painting has always been a chore I despise and one of my least desired. These cabinets were originally stained and I needed to paint them white. The job consisted of 31 cabinet doors (including large pantry doors) and 13 drawer fronts. My desire was to achieve the smooth orange peel like finish you can only get from a sprayer.I built a frame and hung all parts using small hooks and clothes hangers. Over the coarse of 1 1/2 days I applied 2 coats of primer and 3 coats of acrylic enamel. Both the primer and paint had a 2 hour recoat time and although it was probably not necessary I flushed the unit and hose out each time and done a good cleaning on the gun and tip. In the end my results are near professional level and I actually enjoyed using the sprayer. Fact is, other than rattle cans I had never used a paint sprayer before. This is a fantastic sprayer that I'm betting in most cases will be better than the user. You will have a hard time finding a sprayer this good and like features for this price. There is a bit of a learning curve for those of us who have never used such a device. If you are looking for a sprayer that takes zero practice and you're a pro right out of the box, don't buy it. If you paint for a living and need a sprayer for commercial use you should considerable a more expensive model. I feel the Control Pro is for home use or at least jobs where the 1 1/2 gallon paint capacity and 25 ft hose is sufficient. This sprayer can lay a lot of paint down and do it fast! You better be moving when you start spraying. Stay still or pan too slow and you will get runs. With some practice I learned the speed at which I need to pan the sprayer to get a flawless covering of paint. The key here is to apply multiple thin coats. If you think you sprayed a little to thin in one area, don't go back over it, get it on the next coat. Going back during these instances were the only times I got runs and I learned my lesson quick. Some points to know: As mentioned, it will apply paint quickly. I can see how not moving quick enough and not holding the gun at a proper distance to your work can cause additional paint usage. Also, because the paint flows from the gun's nozzle in a fan or vee shaped pattern this may by nature may tend to use more paint. Additionally, airless sprayers are advertised as having no need to thin the paint...having no need and being desirable are very different. Sure you don't have to but I thinned my paint per instructions on the can and gained considerable more control over my spraying and believe it even looked better. Also, I've seen reviews saying you can't get accesories...this is not correct. I have bought cheap 20" and 40" extensions and they work just fine. With the exception of tips, I've found that most airless spray accesories are universal. I've also purchased Wagners roller attachment, roller pads and a straight sprayer gun which will be used with my extensions for some upcoming ceiling and wall projects. I got this idea from people posting on social media having sucessfully using this sprayer with these attachments. Wagner doesn't advertise accesories but yes, they are available. As far as cleaning, I didn't have any issues. Folks, YouTube how to clean this sprayer. You're having to clean up paint which is no different cleaning it off from this sprayer than anything else. As my project progressed I learned to prime, paint and cleanout the unit while minimizing my mess. This is another area that practice will improve your results. Lastly, although it was not excessive, I did get some overspray while using this sprayer. This may have been influenced by my lack of experience. Maybe I was too far away, not sure but I suggest planning on some overspray and prepare your area where you'll be painting accordinglyOverall I am completely satisfied with this sprayer and feel it will serve me well for years to come. I found the more I used it the better I got. I'm sure this will be true for you also. This sprayer was quite enjoyable to use and changes the ball game for me and my paint projects. I will be using this for several projects coming up including staining my wooden deck (tip 313), painting 3 bedrooms both walls and ceilings, rocking chairs on the front porch...you name it. Good luck and happy painting!
