I was somewhat skeptical about buying this after reading some of the reviews. But I’m glad I purchased it. Some reviewers mentioned the ground wire wasn’t connected, so I checked that first. Mine was connected but loose. I tightened that and noticed some of the other fasteners were also loose. I made sure to check every one and tightened all of them. One reviewer checked the CFM’s and said it wasn’t putting out anywhere near the listed 4700 CFM’s. Well, I didn’t check mine with a meter, but this thing moves A LOT OF AIR. Way more than a cheap box fan. I wouldn’t say it’s quiet, but isn’t as loud as I would have thought either. The sound level isn’t an issue for me - isn’t distracting at all. I paired it with a variable speed controller which allows me to vary the speed as needed based on my exhaust needs. So far very happy with my purchase.
