Moderate air movement in our small farmhouse kitchen. Plus, the pull chain is actually string, not metal, so when it breaks.....who knows what we'll do. We have the light hardwired into a wall switch but the string changes air speed. Nice looking fan but if you want air flow, I wouldn't advise
