Once installed, these work silently and smoothly. I bought 4 of them and installed them with the help of my father-in-law, who has done this many times before. They replaced some existing (ugly) ceiling fans, so I didn’t have to worry about making sure the electrical box could support the weight. If this is the case for you, then the process was simple enough that you can do it after watching a few YouTube “how-to” videos. Just a word of warning: make sure you have a wide variety of bolts to attach the fan to the electrical box. I had to make 2 trips to the hardware store because the house had 3 different types of electrical boxes.They do not come with remotes, but I bought generic remotes and they work perfectly. The fan blades did not need to be balanced.Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and I would buy them again.
