The cooling fan assembly is an essential part of your vehicle's cooling system. It must complement the rest of the cooling system by efficiently cooling the radiator and/or condenser. Failure in the cooling system result in engine overheat and may lead to permanent engine and/or transmission damage, resulting in thousands in repair costs. Do not take risks with your cooling fan purchase. TYC cooling fan motors uses high grade ball bearings, magnets and carbon brushes that allows them to be rated for 2000 hours of trouble-free operation. To ensure durability, each cooling fan design are run through tests like corrosion resistance, endurance, moisture, torsion and, vibration. At TYC every opportunity has been taken to build a replacement part that will install, perform and last as well as the OE part it replaces.
OE-comparable harness with no pigtail connector for hassle-free installation
OE-comparable mounting provisions ensure drop-in precise fitment
Rigorous and accelerated cycling tests to ensure product service, quality and durability

I have three Mercury Grand Marquis in my household and they have all been changed over to this part when the factory original fan units failed at around 90,000 miles. Some complain that this fan is louder than the OEM unit. I agree with that assessment, but I think this is possibly because they are moving more air than OEM. After recently changing my third GM over, I noticed the Air Conditioning went from not as good as my other two vehicles to very cold. So the trade-off for slightly more noise is colder air conditioning, especially at idle. I have not had one of these replacement units fail despite running them for over 200,000.Here is a quick check to tell if your factory unit is failing. These fans have a high and low speed. The high speed comes on whenever the engine heats up on a warm day or you select Max AC. My OEM fans still turned on Low, but I cannot hear them speed up to High when I select Max AC. The diagnostic is stand out front and have someone toggle back and forth between Max AC and Vent. If you don't hear the fan speed up on Max AC, you have a bad unit.Inability to run on High Speed can cause overheating and subpar AC performance with excessive cycling. As a parting comment, the electrical connector is not attached to the fan shroud like the OEM one. I use a zip tie to hold the connector to a steering pump hose to assure that the wiring does not make contact with any moving parts.
