I have read elsewhere that people have tried these fan clutches only to have to try three or four of them before finding one that worked. I bought one of these for my 98 Dakota and have no problems so far. I will say that when it's cold, it's locked up it and will take a mile or two before it disengages.UPDATE: Having survived the hottest July here in STL(2012) I have to say this fan clutch worked great. In the 100 plus heat, a/c running and stop and go traffic, no overheating problems. It engages sooner than the stock one did, but that's ok, it did what its supposed to do.
