This product was purchased to replace a 21 year old Radon-Away XP201C unit that had failed completely. I detected the failure when I happened to glance at the manometer on the sub-slab suction piping in our basement one day and noticed no differential. The original has made no noise during failure. This review is being submitted three months after installation of the "RadonAway 23011-1 XP201 Radon Mitigation Fan, 4" product. The unit unit looks identical to the original, and installation was fairly straightforward, requiring just a screwdriver and a small hacksaw. After loosening the adjustable straps on the inlet and exhaust couplings for the fan, a bit of wiggling was needed to free the old unit. I did not find it necessary to remove the couplings or the piping leading to the unit, because the couplings were still flexible and there was enough play. I did find it necessary to use a hacksaw to cut through the sides of a small electrical entry compartment to free the flexible outdoor conduit used to route power, because I was unable to loosen the nut securing the conduit connector to the fan unit. The new unit slipped back into the inlet and exhaust couplings fairly easily, and the flexible conduit connector was attached to the entry compartment with the original nut and sealed with silicone sealant. After three months of operation, the unit is quiet and the vacuum is normal. I'm please with my purchase, and as of this date, I would buy this product again.
