Very quiet. Easy to hang, but takes some work with all of the parts added section by section; 1st one took a while but later ones from box to done was about an hour each. If you don't want to use the remote, just leave that part out and hook up your wall switch wires to the black and blue wires (and of course connect white and ground properly). I am not an electrician, so use at your own risk, but this worked for me.
