Replacement for Carrier Numbers 326628-762
This did turn out to be the correct replacement for my Carrier furnace. It was a fairly easy replacement and it has worked well. The most difficult part of this was determining the correct replacement part. The problem is this is an assembly so there is not a single Carrier part number to cross reference (that I could find). I was able to eventually cross reference the furnace model number (in this case 58STA090-10116) using supplyhouse.com site (It could be ordered from them also). The last three numbers are for the furnace size. This one 762 is for 90,000 input Btuh. 761 for 70,000. The vendor site is packardonline.com. It has a cable adapter for single stage which worked perfectly for mine. Just the motor can be replaced but the set screw does not come off I guess due to the heat. There are Youtube videos where you saw the shaft to disassemble. Then you need the rotor part also. Somewhat cheaper but wasn't worth the effort for me. Also a local HVAC repair company wanted $1100 to do this.
