This assembly was bought for a 2005 Altima SL V6. I installed it today with little trouble. On the surface, it seems to be a quality generic aftermarket product. Only time and use will determine true quality. With regard to value, it is excellent. A Nissan branded assembly sells for $256 and change. You may or may not find my observations useful, regardless; here they are for your consideration. Be careful when disconnecting the wiring harness from the OEM part. The wiring clips are sturdy, but you do not want to break one and risk having a loose wiring harness. Gently press down on the top of the plug connectors and slip the male end out. Be sure to completely move the wiring harness to the passenger side of the vehicle. Be sure to understand when you disconnect the upper radiator hose, coolant will leak significantly. You need to have water and antifreeze or a 50/50 mix on hand to refill the radiator. There is a hose connected to the bottom the assembly. Reach from underneath to pop it out. Then remove the 10 mm screws at the top of the assembly. The bottom is held in place by tabs. Be sure to double check that all hoses and wiring harnesses are free. Then caress the assembly out of place starting on the passenger side and then rotate it (clockwise) up and out. The challenge here is getting past the upper radiator nipple. It’s like a woman, move slowly and steadily. Do not force it.To install the new assembly, reverse the process. Be extremely careful not to pinch any wiring harnesses or hoses. Once it is reassembled, be sure to refill the radiator. Check (cold) the radiator level over the next several days. Be certain to remove all your tools from the engine bay. Finally, you need to reconnect the hose to the bottom of the assembly. On my particular replacement, the hose hook was quite severe and would not allow the hose to simply pop back in place. In fact, the design convinced me if I forced it, I would damage the hose or kink it. I know the professionals out there may criticize this, but I chose not to force the issue. I placed a zip tie on the hook and then placed a zip tie around the hose and through the one I put through the hook. That snugged it down very well.If you are not aware, you can test the variable cooling fan speed operation by inserting your key and turning on the ignition (do not start the car). Then press and release the driver side door close switch 10 times. Turn the car off and then turn the ignition back on (do not start). The horn will honk and a preset diagnostic will test several electrical functions of the car, including the cooling fan assembly (2002-2006). I hope you find this of use. Molon Labe.
