This light is absolutely gorgeous. It gives off a TON of light. I'm shocked that there are no lines / shadows in the cast light because of the globe around it, but there aren't any. The light is very consistent and easily fills my entire kitchen.This light has adjustable pieces that can be added to hang longer or hang closer to the ceiling. I've placed this in my window above the kitchen sink and it is the perfect length (with only the main 6" piece) to hang right near the top of my cabinets, above eye level, and cast an amazing glow across about 15' by 15'.The white wooden area is slightly distressed but you don't notice it unless you look close. The silver inside portion is definitely a flat gray, not a shiny silver, which has allowed me to match this with other metals and it looks great.
