This is the updated, post-recall part for many LG refrigerators with the "frozen fan" error codes. Came with the ice maker door circulation fan but lacked the freezer circulation fan. Easy enough to harvest the old one and install on this panel. The recall update consists of an added electrical connection to a defroster coil on the ice maker circulation fan. It is a bit of a kludge by LG...the additional wire installs on the left side (facing the fridge) but is too short making the install a PITA. Install Instructions:Remove the old panel (lots of YouTube for this). Pull from the top. You'll likely need to use a hair dryer to remove a mountain of ice.Disconnect the wires from the right side connectors.Swap the fan from the original panel if needed.Disconnect the yellow connector from the left side.Connect the new purple defrost wire to the left side connector (where the yellow one went)Connect the old yellow connector to the secondary connector on the purple wire. PITA ... hard to see but you can do it.Reconnect right side connectors. The freezer circulation fan won't start until the coils are cold so don't freak out.
