This adapter cable allows you the ability to connect fans with mini 2-pin fan connectors to standard 3-pin and 4-pin PC fan headers. This cable is intended to be used with 2-pin fans that utilize the 2.5mm pitch XH 2-pin connector.
Sold as a 2-pack, these adapter cables allow you to connect a mini 2-pin fan to a traditional PC fan header.
Output 2-pin male mini fan connector (0.984" / 2.5mm pitch XH-series) Pin 1 Positive Voltage (Red) Pin 2 Ground (Black)
Note the XH 2-pin fan connector wiring is not standardized across all devices and swapping the pins on the mini connector may be necessary for a very small portion of users.
The cables are constructed with all black connectors and high density sleeving for minimal wire visibility.
Cable length (excluding connectors) 5" / 12cm
I can remember quieting down my CPU in the late 90s and it took me a while to find the product, which was a Zalman Fanmate. They weren't made anymore, but I found a bunch used in a lot on eBay. My ASIC miners along with the separate power supply were just too damn loud. They, however, make really great efficient space heaters. If using a proper space heater, they produce about the same heat per watt used, except at full blast, they are too loud for most unless someone enjoys the sound equivalent to a running handheld pistol styled hairdryer. I had found most of the noise to be coming from the cooling fan on the ASIC miner itself. Firmware was able to take care of the fan noise, but also mine at a reduced rate - which is fine for me as full blast, it was too hot for the room. After successfully slowing down the ASIC fans with firmware, I discovered that the PS also makes a somewhat obtrusive noise. It is the Bitman AW3++ PS in particular as the HP 750W Server PS I also had was quieter. After investigating, I found it was a 2-pin connection and this jogged my search for Zalman Fanmates, this item, and also its opposite.I had found that both the "CRJ Mini 2-Pin Male Fan to Standard 3-Pin PC Fan Adapter Cable" and the "CRJ Mini 2-Pin Female PC Fan Adapter Cable 2-Pack" along with the Zalman Fanmate in the middle was enough to slow the fan down to an unobtrusive noise-level. It's not quiet by any means, but now it sounds like I have a space heater running and it keeps my feet toasty since I have these setup below my desk. I'm spending about the same power as if I were running a proper space heater, I get about the same heat and noise-level as a proper space heater, but I get to mine 50 cents of crypto a day. LOL. Still mining at a loss, but would have set up a space-heater anyways. This review is also going verbatim under the other cable. It asked me to rate "Warmth" and "Thickness", which I closed because they aren't pertinent to the cable itself. It works for what I wanted it to do - which is insert a 2-pin Zalman Fanmate between the 2-pin built-in fan and the jumper on the circuit board. It fits without electrical or physical modification. I need two Fanmates in there if I want to completely stop the fan, but that's not directly relevant to this product.
