I installed this in my kids room - I let them pick it out. Honestly I was concerned that the 26" was going to be too big for a smaller kids, room, but it's really not. And there is the added feature of not having blades spinning around to catch on things like kids jumping etc.Install is pretty straightforward if you are handy at all. Three wires - green, white, and black. Instructions are scarce, but the illustrations say it all anyways. All the hardware is included other than a fan-rated box made of metal or strong plastic with deep-threaded holes. I would say this is a 2 out of 10 in difficulty.The 26 inch model has a 15 inch fan with 6 blades. It moves plenty of air on the slowest setting, and is whisper quiet. there is no motor noise, just the wind on the blades, and they are shaped well, so it's less than I would have thought it would be. A feature that I didn't know existed was the 'natural' setting. it varies the fan speed so there is a differing flow of air. That probably my favorite setting.You can turn the lights off separately from the fan. The lights do not have a dimmer setting, and it is not recommended to have a dimmer on the power source. The 16 inch model has six E26 sockets. Bulbs are not included. We chose 2 watt LED edison bulbs with the smokey color to the glass, and this is perfect for us. That's a 150 watt equivalent, and is plenty of light in a small room. You can install higher wattage/lumen bulbs for a larger room for sure, but this combo is pretty great for a small bedroom.The remote control is great, and has a little holder if you want to mount it on the wall next to the switch. If you turn off the power using the light switch, the system loses it's previous fan settings, and the next power on event will turn the lights on, but the fan will be off until you use the remote. The remote uses 2 common AAA batteries.Overall, this is a great choice for someone replacing a cheapie fan with something nicer, and is a fairly simple remove and replace job for anyone who is even slightly handy. Highly recommended.
