7/24/17 - Update: The fan & light stopped working entirely. I did some diagnostics and had an email exchange with Hunter. We traced the issue to a faulty receiving unit. Hunter sent me a new one. I installed it and it solved the issues I outlined in the BAD & the UGLY below. The fan is quiet and the light is bright at all settings. Consequently, I am revising my rating from 2 stars to 5 stars given the combination of design, installation ease, look, and quiet performance.ORIGINAL POST:I installed this about 4 weeks ago. It was the basic approach so I didn't need to fiddle with the downrod, etc.THE GOOD: It went up relatively easily. The design seems thought out both for the overall unit as well as its installation.THE BAD: About 70-75% of the time, the fan unit is turning off by itself after about 30 min of operation, and the light comes on.THE UGLY: The unit is noisy, especially at highest setting. The light dims at the two highest settings to almost 50% level. You can't see anything then.This was not a low-budget item so disappointed with the results to date.
