This fan provided a great updated look for my bedroom. I will hardly ever use the speeds above 4 because it is quite powerful and my room is only 14' x 12'. The second fan which controls the air direction is a great additional feature. If you use the remote to control the light, it will remember the setting. If you use the switch to control the light, it will not remember the setting. You cannot have 1 switch for the light and 1 switch for the fan. The fan has to be activated / stopped from the remote. I bought the grey color because I wanted a brushed nickel look. It is a little darker than I hoped for but still looks great! The fan has a quiet button so it is very quiet for sleeping. I have ordered one for another bedroom too!
