I ordered the Kentrol hinges as they were supposed to be the best , and I paid 159 for the windshield hinges compared to crown automotive ones which would have cost me half as much. I wanted a high quality finish where all the hardware to match and look good as I was replacing some rusty hinges. The hinges are just ok. I am unhappy I paid so much for these, as the coating on them is no better than black paint, it is not powder coat - and if it is, it is so thin that just a scrape with my wrench took some of the paint off in places. However that was the least of my issues, as I can touch those up. The real issue is the hardware that is included to replace the stock bolts (yes you have to use them - the brackets are not counter sunk like stock and the stock bolts won't fit back in , not that they would look right anyways with the black paint with body colored bolts). All I can say is that whomever decided to use the alan bolt head for these , should have their engineering degree revoked. What was supposed to be an easy half an hour to an hour pulling out 28 bolts and replacing them , ended up being a few hours. Some of the bolts did not want to thread properly and then as you were trying to snug them down, they would end up stripping (and I was trying to be careful - but the tolerance on the bolt head since the material is so poor, it just strips right out). I ended up with about 6 of the bolts I was left having to figure out how to remove half way screwed in , with stripped heads. To remove them I had to use vice grips to attach to the bolt head to unscrew, which then ended up scratching the hinges.I am an avid do it your selfer and do do most of my jeep repairs myself from installing audio , to engine work , to installing all suspension lifts, etc. This was by far one of the worst purchases I have made for my jeep in terms of the quality and the frustration with installing. Thanks for listening.Adam
