It would not revise the airflow direction. The airflow would blow out from the side of the fan cross grille. If you revise the polarity (positive to negative), the fan and controller would not work. Please connect the cable to the same polarity (positive to positive/ negative to negative)There is a probe to detect the temperature of the environment near the evaporator of the refrigerator. We suggest placing the sensor in about 1 inch freely suspended to the evaporator because there is the warmest area. My fridge had died on me or I thought.... start researching the problem on the net and remembered the same type of problem on an older RV... I just jammed a small house fan in the opening then and it worked well and a must have during those common near or over 100 degree days where I live in my modern fifth wheel. But this really can and I think usually is a multi faceted problem in most cases. Below are the other solutions I have used that have given me an absolutely perfect running fridge NO MATTER what the outside temp.Seems simple, but good quality when you open it up . Size is nice and small to not take up much room. Absolutely silent, wonderfully effective. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B09GCH9ZZZ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1Another IMPORTANT item to insure if your fridge is having trouble when it's hot outside is your RV power supply. If you using/are on a 120v extension cord and especially a long one, using too many items at the same times (fans, coffee maker, ice maker, microwave, TV etc. etc.) you will cause the supply line to be over loaded especially if a small gauged wired ext cord (anything under 12g.) By changing to a 10-3 Gauge extension cable I stopped my refrigerator problems altogether... I can even run the AC unit now on this simple 120 15 amp circuit which was never possible before. The extension cable I am using is this one... 100% happy with it too. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B071LPYYVW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1I went from a not usable fridge to a perfect one with the above items.
