I was looking for a quality low cost fan for our master bedroom that didn't have a light, and I found it with this one. Our old fan was making some annoying noises at night. This one is silent and didn't require any balancing. Instructions were really good. They were detailed and obviously written by someone who spoke English, unlike many other items on Amazon. Finally, it actually looks better than in the pictures. I wouldn't call it "modern", but more modern and clean than most fans out there.
