Homeowner that has installed several fans in the past, but not a professional. I found the installation of this fan to be well explained and did not encounter any significant problems with the installation. All parts were supplied and there were several extra bolts and washers incase some were damaged or lost.This fan was installed with two wall switches. One switch was for light and other was fan. It could have been installed on one switch with the use of pull chains. It does have the ability to switch directions based on the seasons.The fan is a good speed that is quiet and did not require any balancing (although the kit was supplied). The light is bright enough for general lighting but would not consider it over bright. It does take bulbs that can be replaced, unlike some fans.
