We replaced a different brand unit that had just worn out after many years. This unit has about the same footprint as the one we replaced and it's taller which for us was a positive because it also has lighted buttons on the top to select heat and digitally pick the desired temperature as well as just run the fan. Doing that manually our old item required sitting on the floor. Like all small units you'll learn pretty quickly what selected temperature provides the warmth you want. It works very well. The remote control that came with it did not work. I corresponded via email with Lasko customer service. They asked me to try a couple of things which I did. Those did not solve the problem so Lasko sent me a replacement via FedEx and it works great. Highly recommend this.
