the Sanus 'ecosystem' is a peculiar beast, but thankfully this particular product is an exception to some of the curiosities that plague other ecosystem products.For starters you must have the CAPT01 power supply which is the heart of the Ecosystem and all the accessories such as this fan plug into the CAPT01.Once installed this does exactly what it says on the box its is an inlet fan that occupies a 1RU space and blows air over or under your equipment to facilitate heat removal from critical components.It is not what I describe as quiet so this should be a consideration if you have the rack situated in your listening environment.I have 3 of these installed in my rack, one above each amplifier to help evacuate the rising warm air from the top of the amp and into the back of the rack so the larger fans can extract the warm air out the top and rear of the rack. This works well and keeps the equipment at ambient temperature even when running at high volume levels.If you plan to use the ecosystem, then this is a great little fan, but surely a bit on the pricey side.
