The remote has to be mounted in the wallFan was really easy to install, I didn't want to use the provided switch so I had to find a work around but the fan is amazingI absolutely love this fan. The old one in our room was so loud and didn’t circulate the air in the room in the ways we needed. We were desperate for a low sounding fan that looked pretty to the eye. After using it for a week, we have decided we would buy this again for other areas in our home. We put the controls on our wall and it’s easy to use. We made it so the light and fan could be separately on. Will 100% buy again.Love the wall connection for the light. Good looking fan!Installed in my guest room. Looks great and it is easy to turn on!The fan is lovely and was easy enough to install. I've only ever switched out outlets and light switches, so I was nervous about doing the wiring for this, but I just followed the directions and it was fine. The fan was balanced on its own without adjustment, and it moves lots of air without making a noise. My two complaints are: 1) I wish the light were a bit brighter, but I'm coming from a fan with 4 light bulbs, which was too bright, so maybe that gave me a false frame of reference and 2) when the dimmer mode is toggled on, the light turns itself off (but then on again right away) every 3-5 minutes. It was annoying, so I turned the dimmer feature off and now it's fine. I reached out to Hunter and they told me to toggle the dimmer off and on, which I've tried. The first time it seemed to fix it for a while, but then it started again. Since then, I've only been able to get it to stop by turning the dimming feature off. And yes - the bulb is meant for a dimmer, it came with the fan.I wish I had never gotten this fan. When it works, it works fine. When it doesn't work, you're SOL until it decides to start acting right again. Apparently there is a receiver issue between the wall control and the fan, and that's why you think your house is possessed or the fan is haunted. The light will flicker on and off.Even if it worked like it should- there are major design flaws.Installation was a nightmare. To reverse the fan, you have to remove the light globe. There is no remote. If you want to add a remote, the globe is too small and there's no where to put it.There are still ugly white screws and hardware in the copper settings.Hunter customer service is pathetic. They told us the reason the light was flickering was bc of the fan control in the other room. Um...no.Then there's the wall control. One reason that I stupidly bought this is bc ppl were calling this a remote. So I thought I could still have my wall control and new remote. No. The old fan wall control had to be removed. The whole thing had to be replaced (idk about 2 gang or 3 gang or pole or whatever). Then they installed this stupid thing in the wall. Here's the problem- first it has to be "turned on" to control the fan. that's bc there are BATTERIES inside the wall mount. wth. but if you think you're just going to walk in the room and click on the light... no. you have to click the on button and push it hard to keep it depressed. then turn the light on. and if you want it bright, cliiiiiiiiiiiiick click click click click click.... till it finally gets there. not nearly as efficient as my old slider!!!!! there are only 3 fan speed controls. again my old slider was soothe and I could get the perfect speed. there's a blue light that flashes each time you touch the control. why?? why why why.the design of this fan is just idiotic. but what are you going to do when you've spent $200 on installation and the old fan is already thrown away!?Despite the description, there is only a wall control not a remote control. I was disappointed to discover this after an electrician had come over and installed it. It really is beautiful and fits so well in my room with the decor. I specifically wanted a fan with a remote so I could control it from bed.
