I used the sleeping bag in 28F weather in the woods and it kept me warm and comfortable. It had rained the previous night and the weather was cold and humid. I used a 4.5 R value air mattress underneath on a raised platform. The extra thickness of the bag at the feet kept the feet warm. The draft tubes worked and I didn’t feel any draft coming in when I moved around. For zipping up the bag, I turned on one side and that provided me with enough room to maneuver the zip. The zip may get caught at times but if you pull back and out, it closes smoothly.I wasn’t able to close the hood around my head probably due to my height (6’1”) or the pillow or both. I used a small blanket to cover the head and part of the face so it became comfortable to sleep for the rest of the night. If you are a side sleeper, you will end up turning sideways with the bag but if you have a good mattress, it won’t bother you.Overall, I recommend this sleeping bag for cold weather and it lives up to the rating for which it is designed for.
