I actually really love this fan and light combo, and it works very well with Google Home. It deserves five stars, and I will edit it if the con below is fixed.Pros:- Installation was super-easy. My husband took only the fan box to the bedroom; it includes a screwdriver (a decent one!) . Twenty minutes later, he came back with the old fan/light, and this one was fully installed and ready for me to set up with Google!- The fan is super quiet. It makes a small beep sound when first started, which is actually nice because you know that it got the message without staring at it to ensure it's starting to move.- The light settings are great. It's in the bedroom, so I can have it a nice dim, soft light for getting up or going to bed and a really bright light to see what I'm doing when necessary (picking clothes, cleaning, etc.). Also, I was concerned that I wouldn't like the "clean look" of the light fixture (being used to traditional ceiling fan lights), but it's actually very attractive.- Having 10 settings for the fan seemed a bit much to me when ordering, but there is a real difference between the settings. It makes getting the room exactly the way you want it possible.- The remote is easy to use if you chose to use the remote instead of the smart features.- It works great with Google Home! I didn't have any problems setting up the Carro Home app and connecting it to Google. The biggest thing to get used to is telling it to set the fan at "setting 5" instead of "50%" like we do with light bulbs. (There is a con below.)- This fan is being sold by the manufacturer, Trifecte. Their customer service is great and quite responsive.Cons:- The light has three color settings: warm, soft, and day light. These three options all work great with the remote. However, the Carro Home app only sees three "devices," when it should see four; it sees: fan, white light, and yellow light. It should see another light but does not, so you have to use the remote if you want the other color setting. Personally not having three settings is very minor. The bigger issue for me is treating the light like it is two/three devices; I would prefer it to work like regular smart bulbs where you just tell Google (or the app) what color you want and at what setting.- The bigger issue we've had and the one that is stopping this from being a 5-star rating is with the light. The LED doesn't actually go out completely. In a normal room or when there is another light source (the window, for example), you can't really see it. However, this is installed in a blacked-out bedroom, so we have a glowing circle on the ceiling. My husband visited Trifecte's web site, emailed them, and subsequently chatted on the phone with customer service. They are sending us a new LED box to fix the problem. So far, they have been great, and I'll edit the review if that fixes the problem. It's a minor annoyance at this point.The bottom line is that I highly recommend this fan and light combo. If the LED light glow gets fixed, I may just have to replace a couple of other fans with these smart ones! (I say this as I'm listening to an old fan click behind me, lol.) A side note, I'd love to see a couple of other color combinations.EDIT/UPDATE: As mentioned in the cons, we were in contact with Trifecte about the LED not completely going off. The replacement part they sent us did the same thing. Also after my review, the fan started making noises, not normal fan noises (like unbalanced blades, loose covers, etc.). Their rep was working with us trying to figure out both problems. Then the deadline for returning the fan arrived, and Trifecte's rep recommended we return it since we weren't getting anywhere with the problems (and the noise was getting worse).The unit has now been returned (full refund, no problems). We didn't get a replacement at this time. All of the pros remain (except that it wouldn't remain quiet). I think (hope) we just got a dud. The customer support was great, even if he couldn't get the unit fixed.The fan works well, but I have not been able to connect to the wifi. It also does jot have an on/off button for the light. It is hard to turn off/on the light. I would not recommend this fan to anyoneYou are not able to give either of the two lights a unique name. I have three of these so if I ask for a white light to be turned on, all of the white lights turn on... Disappointing, I thought they would eventually update the firmware to rectify the problem. But months later, no fix.Please do not buy those fans… one we got was built upside down. As seen in picture. We are on fan #5 that keeps the lights on ALL night. Only way for the light to shut off is to unplug the entire thing. The picture with the light on is in the middle of the night. Great fan if you like sleeping with the light on! Seller well aware of the problem, set us the wrong part to fix. Now just trying to return every single one of them… in total, 6 defective one out of 7. Tried so hard to have them matching but now this is ridiculous. Please do NOT buy.UPDATE:Every single one of the fans now is defective and keeps a constant light on.I finally got an electrician to install this fan on my covered back porch. It looks nice but I have 2 issues. First, it is very noisy when first turned on and at slow speeds. Once it gets to the fastest speed it is silent. Luckily that's what the speed must be at, as it is about 16 feet high and you can't feel any air movement at anything slower. Even then it isn't much which is very disappointing. I live in Savannah and it's too hot to be outside without a good fan blowing. It was a somewhat expensive fan and it cost almost as much to have installed due to the height so I'll have to live with it for now. Except for the noise, it would be a great fan at a lower installation.Fan is nice looking and it works nicely to circle air but the LED light when turned off stays illuminated and it literally GLOWS in the DARK! So if you’d like a total pitch black room this is not the fan for you!Also when you first started up the motor makes some click click noises.The remote doesn’t stay in Holder either use difference flat screws to let sit in better.Great fan though !It’s silent!Overall, this is a pretty decent fan. It was relatively easy to install and I like the wire connector that was easy to connect with just two wires since I am a little uneasy playing with electricity. Out the box, the fan motor feels really solid and heavy but the fan blades feel a little bit cheap and weak. Perhaps that is the reason for the next flaw - I wish this fan put out a little more air, especially since it has 10 fan speed settings. A bit of overkill in my opinion, five fan speeds would’ve been more than enough. After installation, the fan runs pretty good. I like that the light kit has both warm, cool, and natural light settings. The remote is great. I have not set it up as a smart fan and don’t intend to, so I don’t have any opinion on that either way but I have heard good things although it is recognized by some apps as three devices instead of just one. Overall, I can recommend.
