This is the second Mepra brand product I have received through the Amazon vine program. Normally, I won't get just one place setting. But, in this instance, I truly wanted to check it out, as I am so impressed with my Mepra 1950 Casserole with Handle, 18cm, Stainless Steel. If you check out Mepra's website, you will note that all of their products are made in Italy with care of form, function, style, design, and ethical practices. If I could afford it, I would buy 3 more place settings just like it. It is beautiful. It gleams--almost sparkles on the table. They individual pieces are nicely weighted so that it feels aesthetically, comfortably pleasing in the hand. The tines of the fork are so smooth that it doesn't feel rough or harsh on my teeth, and the spoons have a soft, almost velvety feel (if you can imagine stainless steel feeling velvety!). The design is simple, clean lines and the set can go with either formal or casual, although I suspect it may be as it says for everyday use. I've never owned such a lovely setting, so polished and satin-y.It doesn't come with an insert, so I don't know how safe it is for the dishwasher, so I have chosen to hand wash it. However, modern dishwashers are typically safe for the items that we used to have to handwash back in the 80s. If you want to know more about Mepra, go to the website. You will be impressed.
