We purchased the tree that was NOT prelit because of the difference in price. Last year I spent too much money on a real tree, prelit, flocked. It was over $600. Maybe that sounds about right to you, but I decided that if I was going to pay that much for a tree that I then had to figure out how to dispose of after the season, I'd rather buy a really nice fake tree I could put in a box or bag and use again next year.I saw some complaints in other reviews about the flocking not lasting, but for us, the flocking is perfect, and it has shed a lot less of the flocking than my real tree did last year. It's not so heavy that you can't tell there's a tree underneath it all, but it looks like it has been through a snowstorm (something we don't see a lot of here in Nashville). I decided I would do the lights like they did on my super expensive tree last year, but that I would be smart about it so that I would make my own "prelit" tree. It looks gorgeous, and I don't think I'll have to remove any of the lights when we get ready to take the tree down. If I do, I'll come back and edit my review. I would buy this tree again in a heartbeat.
