We purchased a house built in 1953 and discovered that the bathroom ceiling light's ventilation fan was disconnected. The reason for the disconnection was that the ancient fan's electric motor mounting bracket was broken. The fan was also generally in bad shape. This Broan-NuTone kit was a perfect replacement (right down to tab and screw placement) for the defective old fan and was easy to install: a few minutes of work with a screwdriver and our old, old ceiling ventilator was working perfectly. It may be a bit loud but the fan draws well and the kit allowed us to avoid the messy and expensive replacement of the built-in fixture.
