Well at over £100 for a 650 watt PSU you'd expect it to be well made. That's the point really, it's powering a lot of expensive gear such as the GPU and everything else. It's the least expensive component in the PC yet capable of blowing up the rest of it if it went badly wrong. In fact we bought this to replace a PSU that actually went BANG! with an exclamation mark because the GPU was just too much for it.Solid construction from thick metal, thick ribbon style cables. All of them plug in (modular). Interestingly a 4+4 CPU cable and an 8 way CPU cable. Both the same thing really but the MoBo accepted the 8 way which made it easier to plug in. Some MoBos use 3 4 way or even two 8 way so you're covered.I was a little disappointed that they did not supply PCIe cables with only one connector. I was reluctant to cut off the unused connector. remember if your GPU has two sockets, use two cables, not one cable with both plugs. Current and resistance, ohms law and all that.As always with modular PSUs try not to lose the cables. To be honest they are a waste of money. You should get a case with a PSU shroud then you don't have to look at the spare cables of a non modular PSU. Then when you upgrade you still have the cables where you can find them.In the long run it's worth over specifying the PSU so you can cope with a GPU upgrade without splashing out on another PSU. 650 watts is plenty for now but I am concerned that it won't be enough after an upgrade, doh! An over spec'ed PSU will also run silent as it won't turn the fan on.Maybe that's what the mysterious button on the back of the unit is for.....Anyway happy with this PSU but if you have more time than money shop around, this is no bargain.
