This fan can be mounted on a wall to pivot sid to side. Mine replaced a ceiling fan above our bed. I love it. It is very high quality without a single plastic part. After 2 years it has not needed any adjustment at all.This fan can't be "aimed." It will only blow in the direction of the electrical box that it's connected to, which is a problem if the electrical box is attached to a fan brace that is secured between joists (as it should be). The fan can't be adjusted to correct for this. Matthews acknowledged this problem and told me to just return the fan. I can't understand why this non-adjustable fan is even on the market.I bought this item 2 years ago. About six months ago the fan went out. It’s still swivels back-and-forth, but that’s it. Cannot find any manual to troubleshoot nor can I find manufactures phone number to attempt to get technical advice. The only thing I can do now is throw it away. I would not buy this again I would look for a similar, better brand name fan.Modern fan rotates or stays in one place with the remote. Moves a good amount of air!This fan is awesome and so is Del Mar Designs. I contacted Del Mar with a question about installation and they answered my email within hoursso we were able to install right away. The fan operates smoothly and quietly and looks even better than I expected. Tons of compliments already!A very good quality product. All needed mounting hardware is included, need to but nothing more. Good packaging. The Amazon description does not show that it Articulates. Can be stopped with the remote at any position. Nice.Beautiful fan, very functional and works great. No complaints so farI have not installed as yet. My studio is still under construction. I pray it works
