Hurricane HGC736585 10-Inch Black Commercial-Grade Inline Centrifugal Fan for HVAC, Ventilation, and Industrial Exhaust Systems

We have a hooded vent for glass blowing, and we have to have a fan that will pull toxic fumes out of our work area quickly. Our old inline fan just wasn't cutting it anymore. This fan mounted easily to the wall, our existing 10" duct work hooked right up to it, and it moves a lot of air. It is loud, but we aren't using it in a living space and we don't care that it is loud in our glass studio. The noise is the only reason I'm giving this only four stars. But I think for quiet you may have to spend a lot more than we did for a fan that moves this much air.We live in an unfinished home & have this temporarily installed in the chimney, with a little sound insulation to pull air out of the structure. Makes a high pitched gentle purr...don't really like that, but it is quieter than 36" cage fan installed on 1st floor blowing air in. Mr. Wonderful wanted to return it immediately, but I thought fan good enough, even though I am more sensitive to machine noise than he. Fan is still here & workingGood product. Worked as intended.The fan works well.Had two large dents on unboxing and when plugged in the rotor hits the outside housing.2/3 fans don't work, not a good product. Quality and consistency are just not there.
