Great fan for the price. Moves a LOT of air. I don't understand why people are leaving negative reviews because of the noise. This is a 30" fan designed to be used in garages/warehouses NOT sitting on your patio on a quite summer day. Sure you can use it on your patio but it's 30" - that's a BIG fan. The more air you move the louder it gets. No fan that is 30" can run quiet... the fan unit/motor itself IS pretty quiet but it's the amount of air that makes the noise. 3 speed levels to pick from though so you can lower that. But again, why leave a negative comment because air moving is noisy??? I don't get that at all. It's great. I don't have A/C in my warehouse and this works great. I usually keep it on the low setting and that does a fine job. When it's real hot out I kick it up to 3. Since this is in a shop the wind noise does not bother me... I would not use this on my patio, it's way too big for that (unless you have a huge patio). I'd get a smaller fan for my patio. But for those guys/gals in a garage (like me) who need a fan to move air, this will do the job.
