The Fowler 52-229-213-0 Vernier Micrometer Set has a measuring range from 0-3" with a flat anvil/spindle pair with a 0.256" diameter measuring face for general purpose measuring. The vernier scale has 0.0001" microfine graduation intervals on a satin chrome finish for precise readings. Micro-lapped carbide measuring faces with 0.00003" flatness and 0.00005" parallelism on 0 to 1" micrometers provide accurate measurements. The positive locking nut on spindle locks measurements in place when required and the zero adjustment on the sleeve ensures accurate measurements. The ratchet stop provides an audible sound and stops the spindle from turning when the spindle comes into contact with the workpiece, providing constant force for consistent measurements between operators.
