Invite the little green fairy over for some absinthe, or absente, and enjoy it the traditional way. This absinthe set includes one bubble absinthe fountain, two stainless steel sugar spoons, and two authentic reservoir pontarlier absinthe glass. Traditional way to go about preparing your absinthe is to first fill the absinthe fountain with cold water. Next, pour 1 ounce or 30 ml of absinthe in the pontarlier glass which will fill the reservoir at the bottom of the absinthe glassware. After that, place the stainless steel sugar spoon on top of the absinthe glass. Place one (ideally, anise) sugar cube on the spoon and open up the dripper. As the water begins to drip it will melt the anise sugar cube and dilute the absinthe within the glass. it suggested to drip six parts water to one part absinthe but you can dilute to your liking. Congratulation, you have now partaken in the most traditional way of consuming absinthe. A tradition that dates as far back to the early 1800's. Oh, one last thing, CHEERS! Absinthe distillation varies widely. By definition, Absinthe is derived from botanicals, namely the leaves and flowers, of Artemisia ABSINTHium ("grand wormwood"). Other common additives are green anise, sweet fennel, and a distillers choice blend of medicinal and culinary herbs. It is said that Vincent van Gogh was an avid absinthe drinker. We received the set today and it seems to be decent value for the money. The glasses are thick enough glass to be durable and do well with moderate use. I really like the fact that they have a reservoir for easy measuring.The glass fountain is made from glass that is a bit too thin in my opinion, but as long as you are careful with it that shouldn't be a problem. The spigots are plastic, which honestly I prefer since some of the metal ones can rust over time. The only problem with the set is that one of the spigots will not turn off completely. I'm sure that it's a manufacturing defect and I have contacted the seller to try to resolve this single issue. I will update my review once the spigot issue is resolved.UPDATE: I have heard back from the seller and they have offered to send me a replacement spigot. Once it arrives I will post a second update.SECOND UPDATE: New spigot arrived from seller, works great. Seller was responsive and resolved the spigot issue quickly!
