Looking for a little plastic fan to move a little air around?Nah this thing could kill the family dog as it absolutely pumps air in or out of the room, fast enough to notice it at every doorway.While it's a little noisy (and I mean just a little, it is well optimized), it is purely because of the sound of the air rushing through this thing. The motor makes the gentlest of hums that could barely be heard, but nearby it you can hear the air really rushing around. I have a couple in the basement of my house by where I do wash, and I may end up replacing the 10 feet leading up to and from it with insulated ducting just to try to cut down on the sound a little, but in the room a few feet from it (not insulated yet), i can just barely hear it. In fact I more hear the sound of the air rushing through the flex tube in the ceiling more then the fan it's self.Worth noting a mistake was made and one ended up being in direct weather for about 2 years straight and still functioned.Any time I get a duct fan, it is and will be one of these (in various sizes).The most recent one is being used to vent out a server room with 1 almost full rack, and a 12 is being used to keep a computer room about the size of a living room cool.
