I purchased this for our great room. I liked the contemporary look of the 3 bladed fan, but was concerned that it wouldn't move as much air as the 5 bladed fan that it was replacing. To our surprise, it is actually better than the 5 bladed fan we were replacing! It is completely quiet, which was important to us. Highly recommend this fan
