Product Description Interchangeable set of fine-tipped ADDI needles, specially for lace knitting - a lovely gift for lovers of lace! Great needles that are sharp but not too sharp. The presentation of the needles are awesome. I like the leather or faux leather case which makes carrying the needles around a joy. It feels kind of like carrying around an old leather bound journal. My set has the red cables instead of the blue. I wish Addi would have color coded the cable lengths. It is a bit difficult to read the small black font on the red cables. I'm sure over time I will learn to figure out the size of the cable with use but it still would have been nice to be able to pull out the cables and know quickly from sight which length is what when they are coiled up. This leads me into the font for the size printed on the needles which are also difficult to read. The color is a lighter shade of black and difficult to read next to the shine of the nickel plated needles. If it were a bolder black or more contrasted color it would make it easier to find the correct needles. The part where the cables attach to the needle is a bit difficult to attach. In the set there are a couple gripper pads included to help which is a plus but it shouldn't be so stiff. I am hoping with time and use the spring gives a little and it becomes easier. Connecting the cables to the needles would be a bit easier if there was a marker on each end to help with the correct orientation. It is like a USB cable if you can't get it the first time you have to turn to get the needle and cable to slide in correctly. There is a point where the cable and needle are not completely smooth which makes the yarn hang and become difficult to get on the needle off the cable. This may not be a problem for everyone but my stitches tend to be a bit tighter.I'm happy with this purchase even though they are expensive needles and not 100% perfectly smooth end-to-end. I think over time I will overcome the cons listed above as I become more familiar with using the needles. I think they will become something I can't live without kind of like my Lamy fountain pen.
