The look is great- clean and modern and the fan cools nicely! The remote is a tremendous bonus and very easy to use. I recommend this fan with variable light !Like everyone else mentioned in their reviews, the installation instructions for this fan are...horrendous. They're kind of laughable to be honest. The first step they suggest is to put the light cover in (which makes zero sense if you've ever installed a ceiling fan before). The plastic cover isn't easy to install without hurting your fingers, and then you eventually have to take that light cover out again later because you need to be able to access the parts inside (this also isn't easy to do without nearly cutting your fingers). Pro-tip - DO NOT install the light cover until the very end. The video that they provide access to is horrible and so the only way I would suggest buying this is if you are familiar with installing ceiling fans. It's not rocket science - but if you have to rely on their instructions, go with another brand. Or at the very least, research how to install a ceiling fan/light fixture and then mirror those instructions with this fan. That said, the quality of the fan isn't bad for the price you're paying. The cheapest part to me is the light component - both the lights and the cover. If you do the brightest light setting, the entire fixture looks very, very cheap. The output of the fan is actually much better than some of the more expensive ceiling fans we've purchased, so we're really happy with how well the fan actually works. Buy this for the fan, not for the light. If you don't have other light sources you can use in your room, I wouldn't buy this fan. One issue that is "OK" with me (I think) the fan blades are gold and metal in the photo, in real life they are clear plastic and smaller. The remote must be used to move from fan to light as my wall switched only controll one mode.The pros: its an attractive fan and exactly the streamline appearance I was looking for. Sufficiently lights room.The cons: its cheaply made, the cup that cover the electrical box is thinner than an aluminum soda can and dents and cracks too easily so be extremely gentle. The receiver for the remote control is too big and difficult to install in the ceiling electrical box. We installed two of these, both light up nicely but one of the fans doesn't work. Very frustrating.The fan works really well it is quiet and has a very good output. The only thing missing is a reverse spin. I really like the options of different lighting
