We let it sit on the counter for about 45min before we plugged it in (instructions say wait an hour) but our driver delivered it with such care we were not concerned. I started the machine at 4p and by 7p I had a gallon freezer ziplock bag of ice in the freezer! No more waiting for the ice machine in the fridge to catch up. Perfect for our family of 5 humans and 2 fur babies. The ice is made fast and last well in our water bottles. Prime day made it a great deal too.We love this unit so much we are bringing it to our summer vacation to save money on ice for the coolers and drinks ?10/10 recommend and I referred a friend to buy one also.
